Director - Mark Skapin
Mark is the current Head Coach at Polk State College in Winter Haven, Florida. His collegiate coaching record is 76-31 including two Region XVI Championships at Cottey College and a record of 34-6 in the last two seasons. The Comets have scored over 8 runs per game for the last 3 years and are always ranked near the top in numerous offensive categories. Prior to Cottey College, Mark coached with MC Madness Fastpitch and the Ohio Lasers racking up a 421-85 career tournament record with a TCS National Championship in 2015 and an ASA Eastern National Championship in 2017.
College Coach Coordinator - Shay Adams
Shay is a former college softball player who has been working with Sheer Madness since 2010. Shay played at Dayton for two seasons before transferring to Cleveland State for her final two seasons. As a senior, she and her team won CSU’s first ever Horizon League Championship, earning the Vikings their second-ever berth to the NCAA Regionals. Throughout her playing career, Shay garnered Atlantic-10 honors, Horizon League honors, and various academic honors. After college, Shay coached for a few organizations before landing with MC Madness in 2010, where she coached the same team for five seasons. Her goal in coaching travel softball was to promote the importance of being a student first and an athlete second, and assisted numerous players in the MC Madness organization with their college recruiting process. She retired her coaching shoes in 2015 to go to nursing school. Today, Shay is the College Coach Coordinator for Sheer Madness, and assists in all facets of running tournaments for Sheer Madness Events.
Event and Check-in Coordinator - Lauren Piechowiak
Lauren is a former college softball player who played at Baldwin Wallace College. She coached a number of high school, travel, and city teams after graduating from college. Lauren chose to hang up her cleats in 2015 to start a family and currently resides in Northeast Ohio where she is raising her two boys and works for Cleveland Clinic Children's. She plays an active role as the Event and Check-in Coordinator where she helps to plan and execute tournament schedules for Sheer Madness Events.
